The tyranny of the grid isn’t natural, nor are these culdesac monstrosities mandated in the US. I believe that in Denmark around the mid century we had the choice to either maintain our pedestrian and bicycle dominant system or begin building Superhighways like they have stateside, thanks to the work of a few sociologists we didn’t go that route and I’m eternally grateful for it. Architecture and cities should be built around people, not cars.
