>>2625524You need a container.
Non Metallic, either plastic or glass.
I use canning jars because they're easy and I have like a thousand. Some are probably 70 years old. I'm using a standard canning lid that's metal but it's coated so it won't react with the acid.
Container needs to be atleast as tall as the hide is wide.
I have 3 that I use, 1 quart, 2 quart and a 3 quart. I don't like to waste product so if I'm only doing a single 3 footer I'll use the 1 quart. If I'm doing multiple 6 footers I'll use the 3 quart.
Your container doesn't have to be sealed, it's just easier.
You can cut the top off a 2 liter soda bottle and do a bucket vat if you can't find anything else (or if the wife is throwing a shit fit over having a dead snake in her good tupperware).
If you're using a 1 quart container you don't need to mix 1 quart of solution- the snake has mass and will displace more than you think.
I sometimes put the hides in the jar, fill with water then drain the water into a measuring cup so I know precisely how much solution I need to make.
