>>319473that's awesome. the problem with 440A is it is almost only used by Chinese makers trying to fill orders for cheap knives. they don't use the correct temps, soak times, and don't oil quench. the steel itself is extremely capable but, almost never heatreated properly. every once in a while you find a gem though.
I think the only company using properly heat-treated 440A is Randall. if any 440A hater tried one, they would change their tune quickly.
