>>1052750>>1052772I will concede that I tend towards a more conservative viewpoint of culling, but the main reason for the necessity of culling animals of prey (deer and invasives) comes the "necessary" culling of predatory animals (think wolves, coyotes, muskies, bears, certain falcons primarily) because they were dangerous towards humans and livestock and their pelts were of values. I do not think the culling of species of prey will do any good in the long term, as we are simply delaying the enevitable collapse of many ecosystems (primarily the rangeland). Otherwise, I think we should allow nature to reach an equilibrium, which many people do not understand takes about two centuries.
What compels you to kill animals of sport? Can you not hunt deer with binoculars instead of rifles? Fish lures without hooks?
