Proenneke is the king hands down. Hes not trying to sell us survival supplies, or ram eco-friendly bullshit down our throats. He is a guy that walked into alaska with a few hand tools and built with his bare hands a life to be envied. Never has anyone made hard work look so appealing. I mean fuck the guys cabin is now a monument in a national reserve. He truly lived the life of an /out/doorsman.
No fancy equipment either. Just some army surplus stuff, some tools from his shop, and a metal canoe.
