Yeah, the Jinn choose to live away from humans, in the secluded areas such as the woods, the mountains, and the bottom of the seas.
They can cause you to see/hear things, and, if your faith is weak enough and there is enough of them in an area depending how angry they are, CAN physically move things and hurt you.
So, it's "endearing" in a way to see these threads, these legends, from all across the globe from all their cultures, truly telling their own takes on what we perceive as Jinn.
Goes to show that this world is much more complex than it would appear.
