I'm a 20 yo in the US and want to try the van life for a year or so just so I can travel to locations to hike and rock/ice climb
I plan to pic up a pick up truck with a cap on the back and sleep in the bed. Build myself a cot and add a ceiling fan for the summer and insulation for the winter.
I'm on my father's health insurance and phone plan so I wouldn't have to worry about that and would only really need to pay for insurance. You can grill no problem or cook on a camping stove on the tailgate. Get a gym membership for showers in the winter or just use one of the mobile bag ones.
It's not even remotely as exspensive as this shithead thinks
