I liked it as a kid, I think primarily because of the mice. Having watched it again as an adult I was pleased to find it was actually a really good movie, and practically pornographic in its /out/ness.
If the climax of the film doesn't make you want to sell all your worldly possessions and go live in the wilderness you're probably on the wrong board.
