>>267512Neat to hear! I did my first 10-15 dives on tables. My Conshelf XIV reg set came with a farallon analog console. It worked pretty good, I paired it up with my Casio Gshock...then again, pretty much all of those dives were 20 - 60 ft anyways.
The computers do the calculations for you.
They are much better for multilevel diving.
They are required for extended no-stop diving (switching to high FO2 gas while riding the "1 minute no-deco" alarm).
I currently dive with a Suunto HelO2 + Cochran EMC20h backup.
However, if you're only doing 1 dive per day, tables are usually fine, especially if your dives are above 80 ft deep.
Remember, deco should be avoided, but it isn't a scary thing. When in doubt, a 5 minute stop at 20 feet can't hurt.
