Sometimes if they are being picky and just want to check it out without getting a good bite, I will zoom it past them faster and that will get the job done. I think the blades might just be getting a reaction strike but goddamn does it work.
Like I said, I have hit them on other stuff a couple times but nothing compares to a good ol' Mepps. If the bass aren't biting in those bodies of water where I know there are sneks, I tie on an inline and start running it just above underwater grass and there's a good chance I will get one. But they also spook easy so you have to creep up on the spots.
