I DIYed a big pot from spare wood planks and I originally put there some packaged soil and it worked out fine for a bit. After the height of the soil started dipping as I kept watering, I added some soil that I got from a field. Ever since then my plants have been getting constantly filled with bugs that eat the leaves. I spray them with some concoction of soap, water and spirit and for a bit they stay clean but after, say, a week the leaves are again full with eggs and bugs.
What is causing this and what can I do about it?
