I think the Abu he originally posted is the SX reel on a cheap Berkley Cherrywood rod but at least he's getting a $40 reel that will work and then he can upgrade the rod if he finds something for a reasonable price in the future.
I'm just trying to find him something that isn't complete trash and will be respectable without costing the equivalent of $300.
There was one 6' M Ike Dude combo for £74 plus £4 shipping which still sucks when you look at US prices but at least he wouldn't be paying £150 more than what the thing is worth.
What is the UK's version of Dick's Sporting Goods or even fucking Walmart? Walmart has those SX combos in their stores for $79 all the time.
