I've been to both Glacier and Yellowstone. They were both amazing places, though Yellowstone was a bit crowded.
Glacier was very beautiful and gave you a really good sense of isolation at times. Flyfishing on the Flathead River just outside of the park was a lot of fun. Lots of cutthroat trout.
Yellowstone had a lot of really cool thermal features as well as lots and lots of animals. That being said, the bison are a bit spooky at times, especially when they surprise you. You wouldn't think such a huge animal moves quietly but they do. Bison kill more people per year than bears do. Fly fishing on the Yellowstone river was perhaps the most fun I've had while fishing. I managed to catch 3 ok sized yellowstone cutthroat trout.
I can't speak to how camping was because I was with my family, including my aging parents, so we stayed in hotels in or just outside of the parks.
