>>1379715I don't think it makes any more smoke than a typical fire, never noticed it to be particularly smokey anyway. Generally wet/rotten/mossy wood will burn smokey if you toss it right on top of a hot fire, but with this method the wood is baked and dry by the time the coals china-sydrome their way down, so it's a pretty typical burn.
