For heavy rain I have another hand-me-down that's a paper thin Columbia jacket that starts leaking around the armpits after about 30minutes. My usual strategy is "Get soaked, hang clothes to dry." I love the rain, nothing more fun than arriving home soaked and listening to rain that sounds like a roman legion marching across the roof.
