I've just come back from a 2 day bike/camp trip from Newcastle, through the Pennines and to Penrith. I was gonna go to Keswick and camp somewhere but the forecast said chance of lightning, and I'm a bit sketchy about hills and lightning. I don't know how to estimate the risks involved, I feel like the lightning is gonna seek me out.
My first time down from Hartside pass on the bike though, felt very alive with the stunning views and hairpin turns.
