Most aren't really willing to endure the shit, rain, bugs, all of the wild that makes some of the beautiful moments all that more enjoyable. Every dumb bitch says "omg I love hiking and camping!" but what they really mean is classic "influencer" garbage, walking on a flat trail for 15 minutes before going back to the SUV, popping the hatchback open and sitting in the trunk with DEET torches and smores. I've been /out/ with these types of whores before, and just like you said, it's unbearable.
I've been really fortunate with my girlfriend willing to get out there despite not being all for it. She's climbed some good peaks and hit some nice trails, and this week we are going out for a 4 night backpacking trip which will be really nice. The only time she has complained was because we were already in an argument, and to make a point to spite me she walked a different route than what I was leading and ended up with her leg thigh-deep in lake mud.
At the end of the day though, it's just as miserable to go hiking or backpacking with a lot of my male friends as it is with any female. People are weak, and that's a big part of why I mostly go solo now.
