as for taking him /out/, he just does typical dog stuff... i take him off leash regularly, he listens fairly well and wont run off, always follows close, always looking for things to kill - especially at night
i guess he would be useful in a survival situation where i would need to start hunting for food. he knows exactly what to do and does it well, he spent the first year of his life hunting for his own food and feeding himself this way. he always outruns and catches cats and squirells and can dig out hibernating gophers, would imagine he has the capability of catching rabbits too. be it on snow or dirt...
