>>463100What route are you taking in the alps?
Don't try to get one pair of boots for a large range of environment.
Get a good pair of boots for high alpine and a decent pair of trail runners for shit in the forest. It would be a waste to wear out the sole of a good pair of boots just for doing menial shit in easy terrain.
Go to your local outdoor store, tell them what you plan to do. Try out a few boots and buy the ones that fit the best. Good brands are Meindl, Lowa, Salewa, La Sportiva, etc.
Again: BUY THE BOOTS THAT FIT BEST
Not the cheapest, not the pair from the brand that you somehow came to the conclusion is the best, not the pair that is the most vintage or 1 Color, not the pair your wife says look best;

BEST
Expect to pay 200-250€
These will last you a lifetime as long as you replace the sole by a shoemaker from time to time (If you walk 20 km 4 times a week from March to October, you'll need a new one every year. If you walk 14 days per year, you'll need a new one after 15 years)
Boots (and your backpack) are the most important part of your equipment, don't cheap out on those.
Also, was it really necessary to make a new thread for this?
tl;dr:
>don't get a boot for everything>Meindl, Lowa, Salewa, La Sportiva, etc.>200€-250€>try them out in a store; this is absolutely imperative>tell the clerk what you want to do>BUY THE BOOTS THAT FIT BEST
