Backcountry PNW, specifically Washington, is almost as beautiful as Switzerland.
In Idaho I like the terrain from Cœur D’Alene and north, I find the rest boring.
Washington if you aren’t interested in hunting or owning guns, Ellensburg, outside of Wenatchee, and anywhere on the Olympic peninsula is nice. Oregon is alright but nothing really impressed me too much. Kalamath area was cool.
Northern Coastal is very very nice but not possible to live unless you are wealthier than most
