Usually they just fuck off especially where I live because a lot of people hunt them. They catch one sniff of you and they are gone. But if a really big fucker decides to have a go at you you'll want more than a stick. My mate was hunting one recently he managed to grab its tail and wrap it around a fence post a bit an was going to try to stick it. This thing got off and had a crack at him he jumped then it came through the fence at him and he had to leap onto the other side again.
