>>266458Well it's supposed to be arriving by friday (our blizzard might slow that a little) and as soon as we have a ~25º night I'll be going a little campout in the back woods to test it - so I'll let you know how it goes!
Yeah it looks pretty spacious. The fitted tarp can be rolled up though (same as the bug net) so it's installed but not over you, when it starts raining you just roll it down and it attaches at the 4 pole points. seems pretty easy. I'm especially excited about having the second tarp so I can withstand wind and rain - plus in the cold the tarp is a much better windbreaker than the nylon of course.
I would like to have an extra layer but since I mostly 2-3 season camp it's not worth the extra weight and bulk. As you can see from my first post I also have a fleece liner to add to/under the bag... which I'm hoping combined with the windproof tarp will keep me warm at night.
The also sell an external blanket/pad thing for cold weather but I'm not paying for that. Easier to cocoon it up with two fitted tarps and then fleece/sleeping bag inside.
I can hardly wait to rough it in the snow with this thing ^_^
