Hiked to the first lake I was planning to hunt from, about 5-6 km.
Then I packed out my rifle that I had in my backpack, and couldn't find the magazine and ammo.
Turned backpack upside down, checked "all" the pockets, my jacket and everywhere else I could think of.
Certain that I had forgot it at home, I hiked back to the car and went home.
Came home and emptied my backpack, found magazine in a pocket I had completely forgot existed while up in the mountain.
So, that was a waste, but it was a nice hike at least.
