The tecnique
We can fish almost anywhere from rocks at a jetty or a pier etc, (ofc not in extreme wind or heavy waves) so long as we can see our float.
First thing to do when we arrive is measure the depth; using a snap swivel we attach the float on our main line(moving freely) and tie our leader with a small weight at the end. We attach a stopper above the float on our main line at roughly the depth we believe the place we want to fish has and we cast.
If we can't see the float at all it means we need to move the stopper higher if we see the float but it is laying horizontally it means it is swallow and we need to move it lower on our line. We keep on casting and adjusting until we can see only the red tip of the float among the waterline.
Congratulations we now know the exact depth and thus we can adjust the float at the exact height from the seafloor we wish to fish(depends on the fish we are targeting from rockfish at the bottom to mid and top water dwelers)
