What's comfy in the summer will kill you in the winter; and what's comfy in the winter is heavy/hot in the summer.
Rain's still gonna be what gets you. I don't have much experience dealing with that.
Buy appropriate gear for the conditions: tent/bag for late spring/early summer/early fall, and either modify the tent (rain fly, vestibule) or buy a second tent plus sleeping bag/equipment/gear for late fall/winter/early spring.
