>>2006505New Eagle Scout here, I left the BSA in 2019 after I aged out at age 18. It immediately went to shit after that, as 2019 was the last year of the organization being "Boy Scouts of America" before it changed to "Scouts BSA."
I have good news - It's not too bad. Having just left the organization (I just stopped paying dues this year), I can say that MOST troops will be unaffected by the changes the National organization made.
The BSA is a decentralized organization, National has very little bearing over individual troops. Thus, there's a lot of variation troop to troop. Example: My home troop of 120ish boys was a very traditionalist, purist Scouting experience like
>>2006505 Op's pic. That's because it was run by the same 50s/60s Scouts who were kids in the program, and now are adult leaders/council members. They passed down the leadership style to the younger dads, and us as well. I moved for a year to another troop, which was more militaristic. They ran things almost like a JROTC program, with us learning military drill and formations, etc.
Because of this decentralization, yes, there will be some troops with girls in them, some will do "Diversity Merit Badge," some will be cucked. But some will also still teach the Scout Oath/Law and /out/doorsmanship just as they should.
