Found in a state part in southern california. fruit was about three inches tall, two inches across. thick outer rind, thin soft inner rind, and then a green almost impenetrable green inner lode. looked like the thing might have been underripe, but as you can see, all the leaves had completely fallen off the tree (late september), for both trees that I found of this type. the second had maybe 10-15 fruit on it, the second as you'll see was completely laden with 100+.
