>>1440119Higher elevations are colder. The only thing that gets worse is higher amounts of solar radiation, which will not really effect you even at 10k ft. I've spent a few years at almost 4k ft in AZ (pretty low), summers consistently were 110F with nighttime lows in the 70s-80s. Winter got snow and freezing temps most of December and Jan, got 4 inches of powder on New Year day recently. Meanwhile just a 1.5 hr drive away, Pheonix (2.5k ft lower elevation) gets 120+F summers and 90F summer nights and never freezes or snows in winter and bears with half as many rainy days (36 days vs 70 days, >9 inches a year vs 16 inches). The higher you go in deserts the milder the climate gets but the more extreme the temps changes can get, it's much nicer weather in my opinion.
