Water "resistant" (or "weather resistant", as I'm also seeing nowadays) is just a legalese marketing term that doesn't
really mean anything and would apply to something like a nylon Members Only jacket, that's sufficient for a quick dash
across a grocery store parking lot (i.e. any longer and you _will_ get wet).
Water "proof" is an official industry standard that means you can sit out in the pouring rain all day long and not get wet.
