>>1847295Looking to start squirrel hunting in Indiana since I've moved here. I've done boar hunting back home in Florida and deer hunting in NJ as a kid, so I want to reset from square 1.
I've done plenty of shooting and I'm pretty good with my 10/22. I got a couple of questions though, first time on /out/.
In terms of getting a license, do I start on hunters-ed to get my hunter education certificate or is there a better way?
Any tips for an absolute beginner in squirrel hunting? I'd figure it'd be easier since I can sneak up close to them at 10 yards and closer consistently on trails that I hike, and I can get a palm-size grouping off-hand at 25 yards with a 22. How that translates to actually putting plinking and hiking together, I don't know how off I am.
I also own a dachshund who lives chasing the little fuckers around in the backyard and digging up dead animals I'd otherwise find. Would it be good to bring him along or wise to leave him at home?
