Blackberries are nasty, I use a two handed billhook followed by a rake to comb it out and then some more billhook. Rinse and repeat. Your biggest problem will be constant resprouting unless you find some way how to exterminate them underground. You could try herbicides but I have no xp with those. At least dead blackberries rot rather quickly, unlike real wood.
