>>681326It does warm up noticeably quicker than an AK even with the polymer, which is actually saying something. Really wish they had some provision for heat shields but beyond that, what's wrong with dumping fouling on top of the barrel? Push an oil cloth down into the handguard, pull it back over and wipe it off. Easier than cleaning my AK's gas tube and the fouling doesn't seem to bake onto the piston as bad as an AK does. If you try c-clamping at the forward handguard port you'll probably get burned though.
>>681331Pleasant with the brake, with the slant brake I found it mildly unpleasant not to my shoulder but my cheek, could have been rectified with a wrap, for cold weather you would probably want one anyway. LOP is fairly short with the folder. Safety feels backwards (because it is on the vz2008 due to a cz-usa/czechpoint copyright on their semi-auto fcg). Feels like less reciprocating mass than an AK, you don't feel the action as much, the milled receiver might aid that. Last round bolt hold open. The only real complaint I have is that the shitters who built mine used locktite or rockset on the buttstock screw, the kit looked brand new otherwise which will vary.
I haven't experienced a non-magazine related failure other than the occasional dud but it's not like I've torture tested it either. There's a few torture test videos on youtube and the only thing I recall stopping one was a chamber obstruction after the guy buried it with the action locked open. Go figure. I'd be curious to see proper dust and freeze tests, too bad I don't speak Czech.
tldr
Inexpensive, light, handy, conscript proof, and chambered in a common and effective cartridge but not without its idiosyncrasies.
