The last pepper harvest of the year (Hungarian Wax)! I won't be overwintering any of the plants this winter. I need to raise a greenhouse before I do that again. I still have lots of tomatoes and volunteer tomatillos coming on. Even the volunteer roma is doing rather amazingly (I haven't planted roma tomatoes for 3 years & tomatillos for over 5 years!)
I also have more asparagus seeds than I know what to do with. I might plant them in the wild. More and more asparagus seedlings are popping up. I've covered them with clear cups to protect them from early frosts. I'm letting chickweed grow as a cover crop for that bed. Once it dies I'll mulch it with straw until next spring when the asparagus shoots up again then I'll remove the straw so slugs won't go rampant.
