>>2177806>what are some brands that dont look obnoxious that can allow feet in the shoe develop in a healthy way?I think for you, your best option is Xero shoes. They have the broadest and cheapest options for minimalist footwear that I know of. There's other kinds of boots and sandals available, but that's where I got my minimalist dress shoes. You can also try Vivobarefoot, they've got some options.
What you're looking for are "minimalist" shoes, which have these features:
Wide toe-box, allowing toes to splay and move around.
Thin sole of 10mm or less, allowing ground-feel.
Zero heel-to-toe drop. Most modern shoes are raised at the heel and then lower at the toes, even men's shoes, creating a "heel to toe" drop. Your bare feet have zero heel-to-toe drop, and minimalist shoes have zero heel-to-toe as well.
Zero "arch support."
There's more options than what I listed, but whenever you're looking at "minimalist" shoes, keep in mind that it's these features which make them minimalist, not just the label - read the specs carefully.
