To bump the thread...
This is a yew bow I am in the process of making. In this case, I do everything a good bowmaker would not do.
It was a pretty thin branch. It was twisted in every direction. I did not dry or cure it.
I waited two weeks, roughed out a bow form. Corrected it in 5 places with dry heat. It is now perfectly straight concerning reflex/deflex. There is still some curvyness to it, but the string goes perfectly through the middle of the griß area.
Pretty thin and only 1.55m long. I will now let it sit in my room for two weeks and go on tillering it. Still thinking about what kind of nock to use.
If it lands under 30 lbs, it will be relegated to LARP duty.
