Another alternative is crushing them and stuffing them into gelatin capsules and take them like pills, although I haven't tried that yet. The taste is fucking horrendous, but at least with tea, you can stick a regular bag of tea in there to mask the flavor of the fungi.

What's nice about things like the puffballs and Craterellus tubaeformis is that most people will stick with the only edible mushroom they know of, that being pic related, so I can just take a short walk and pick all the leftovers, which are often better than those, too.
