>>2493514>Me walking 3 miles to my nearest pond with 1 fishing rod worth 60$ and about 10$ worth of tackle. Yeah man sucks to be you guysI walk almost that far in order to reach this brook. It's about ten minutes up the side of a mountain, twenty down an old logging road that's been abandoned and unmaintained for decades, and five or so through the woods.
There are 3-7 in. native brook trout and somewhat bigger native creek chubs (up to 9 in. or so) all throughout. No litter everywhere, no fire pits, no speakers, no voices or motors nearby, not even any paths worn anywhere (not that it's passable without wading) because people virtually never go there.
Oh yeah, and big beautiful fly rods and huge majestic casts have their paths blocked by rhododendrons here, but a 6 ft. 3 wt works great.
Heaven.
