>>140670>>insist on bringing a firearm into an area where there will be next to no other people, "for protection" (pro-tip, your 9mm is just gonna piss off a bear)>>packs super ultralite with a skin out weight of 6 lbs because hiking lite is closer to nature... while sporting dreadlocks that weigh more than their packThese two didn't fit with the rest of your greentext lines. One the one hand, one is stupid and/or inexperienced if they bring too much, and on the other hand, they're a hippie if they bring just enough to get by or use ultralight gear. This seems like a lose-lose situation you set up just because you want to hate everybody.
There's only one person on this board actually complaining about hippies, and I can tell it's just the one retard because he misspells the word constantly. See:
>>140645>hippyThat means you have wide hips, you preschooler.
I have seen a number of hippies in the backcountry, and I've yet to see one that used UL equipment. Lightweight backpackers aren't as bad as you think. They're passionate about their gear because they've put a lot of thought into getting it as functional as possible, while being as lightweight as possible. If they come across as pedantic online, think of it more as them talking to themselves than anyone else. You need to count ounces to get your pack weight really low, and while most people don't enjoy doing this, it's a necessary evil in order to get really light packs, which help us go farther and faster than we could with heavy packs.
Also, most people bringing guns into the woods aren't bringing 9mm. There's basically two legit options: .357 magnum or .44 magnum, depending on how much you want to compensate for dick smallness. Both are pretty effective rounds, though, and both are used for handgun hunting, so no, I don't think Yogi will be merely "pissed off" when you put a few magnum rounds in him.
