/out/, everything I see seems to be about weight, practicality, and so on. So what gear do you take in the woods to make your life more comfortable? Personally, other than my hammock, I usually bring my shitty old mp3 player along, and listen to some tunes before going to sleep. Also, I usually bring a trip journal, I find some peace and solitude in sitting down somewhere and writing out what happened during that day. Plus, I can re-read it later, and it brings back great memories. Picture slightly related. Very slightly.

My winter sleeping bag has an insulated neck gaiter thing built in and it solves the problem well so I'm kind of replicating that.
