>>1006600You're kind of late for the out of season coats, aren't you? I got a the fjallraven artik parka recently but I have to wait until next winter to test it out. From what the stats say, it has a higher fill power down and more of it than the Canada goose as well as a more durable material (G-1000) than Canada goose for around the same price as their cheapest jackets. It has plenty of pockets and doesn't have autistic storm cuffs. The hood has a really prominent scoop that completely blocks out wind, good for sleeping in. It feels like a good jacket just from putting it on. The down is pretty thick and even everywhere. Its really lightweight too.
Canada goose is a designer brand. Its a luxury brand. Its good but you're paying a huge markup.
I recommend the North Face McMurdo, its generally regarded as the best bang for buck winter coat out there.
Otherwise try the North Face Eldo down jacket. Its a sporty jacket with a thin material and no fur trim for keeping out wind. It isn't big and roomy so maybe not great for a ton of layering but man is it good bang for buck. You get a really decent fill power down and LOTS of it. I tried it on in store and man is that sucker thick yet lightweight. I would have gotten this jacket for use in the city if I could afford it on top of the Fjallraven arktis.
