G'Day out,

I am getting myself set up for going hiking. I have most of my gear (except sleeping bag tent and daypack). I am not a complete stranger to the outdoors, having grown up on the farm and gone on 1 - 2 day camps, however I am a long way off being an intermediate camper.

Now, are there any tips / usefull information that you experienced hikers out there have / would like to share? Anything relating to items to bring, where to camp, what to expect etc would be great. I am expecting to rearrange my kit at least a few times before I get it sorted, however a few tips and tricks would be sweet.
