Field guide reccomendations? All encompassing or local, birds, trees, plants, fish whatever.

The quintessential plant guide for anyone living from west of the mountains from Northern California to Alaska

Also any guide by the Audubon Society is usually pretty top notch.

Don't forget Roger Tory Peterson's guide to birds of North America. I believe there are east coast and west coast specific editions.

This one is my favorite and most well worn guide

This is a good intro and has great pictures

This is way too advanced for me but moss is so sexy

Not every tree is featured but it has great pictures

All of Eastmans books are text heavy but if you want quick tips they are worth the read

All of them are great. The Wildflower one is awesome as an introduction.
The Butterfly and bird one is great as well.

Really advanced but it is another one of my favorites but it is not a field guide.
