>>1018011The hammock you bought is probably pretty similar to the ENO style hammocks, which most agree are pretty awful. Too short and too wide. They will work ok if you've never been in anything else.
Warbonnets are some of the best hammocks ever made, there are very few hammocks that come close to their comfort and quality. Hennessey aren't bad either, but between the 2 id go warbonnet. Honestly though, of you don't camp with many trees, a good tent would probably be better for you.
>>1018036The entry few for hammocks can be pretty expensive, since you need quite a few things to start. If you can sew, you cn make everything for relatively cheap.
About the cheapest store bought setup I could recommend would be:
Wildhorn Outfitters single hammock with straps -$45 on Amazon
Yukon Outfitters walkabout rainfly -$33 on amazon.
You could then just use your sleeping bag, and a sleeping pad inn the hammock. Do not try and sleep without the pad unless you want to be cold.
You wouldn't have a bug net that way, so either buy a Yukon Outfitters No Fly Zone Bug Net for about $30 on amazon, or make your own out of some netting.
If you wanted the cheapest set of quilts you can get for a hammock, get the snugpak underblanket and snugpak hammock quilt. Amazon has them now for about $100 for the pair, but they are on sale all the time. Use
camelcamelcamel.com to track the price. Sometimes the underblanket is under $30, and I got my hammock blanket for $24.
