>>1023620Larger folders really aren't much of a problem weight wise (weight isn't their problem), as even the Buck 110 fits in the pocket just fine without causing any problem when you're hiking. Of course, a lighter folder of equivalent size is even better. I went to an orange Endura 4 and never looked back after 20 years of the Buck 110.
Large folders are still only light task compatible, such as field dressing, shaving timber for kindling or tent pegs, and cutting cords, which when you think about it, is what you use a knife for for almost all things you do unless you want to split wood, where any folder is unsuited for.
A Mora can do all those light tasks and some wood splitting if you have to, but you can't throw it in your pocket.
I throw a strong fixed blade in my pack as a "just in case" thing, as something like a F1 or other strong small full tang knife really doesn't take up room. I've never needed it, but I go out by myself far away into the woods, so I go prepared.
