Fucking everywhere in north florida. Did a 3-4 hour hike in a heavily wooded area. Didn't stop or camp, probably picked off at least 7-8. Fucking little shits. GF won't go inawoods anymore since she got one just biking on a light trail.

Doxycycline is relatively contraindicated during pregnancy or lactation and in children <8 years of age. Antibiotics recommended for children are amoxicillin (50 mg/kg per day in 3 divided doses [maximum of 500 mg per dose]), cefuroxime axetil (30 mg/kg per day in 2 divided doses [maximum of 500 mg per dose]), or, if the patient is ⩾8 years of age, doxycycline (4 mg/kg per day in 2 divided doses [maximum of 100 mg per dose]) (A-II).

Use a DEET based one and yes they do.

Picaridin is somewhat effective but not as good as DEET if you're sensitive to DEET or are a liberal hippie treehugger that objects to it because of "muh feelings".
