>>1061572This is such a millennial argument.
The fact is, you probably don't have the opportunity to get laid let along be a part of a successful intimate relationship that culminates in the birth of children. So you create a transparent defense mechanism that transmogrifies your inadequacies into virtues (to only you, of course),
The world has never been a perfect place, who cares? Offspring should be taken care of but adverse conditions improve the individual and their fitness. Spoiled brats versus good kids who can adapt accordingly.
The idea that "all is suffering" so we should avoid sexual reproduction under the guise of a capacity for higher critical thinking is absurd. Life has never been better for most humans, which is the result of improved fitness and social expansion.
Your life is laughably soft, yet you think things are so bad that we should fear perpetuating our species. What a joke. Compare your life with that of a moose: a winter of hunger, hardship, and being chased in deep snow by predators; followed by a spring of hunger and mud, soft snow, and ice; then the new growth greets you in the summer, along with the hordes of ticks, mosquitoes, and biting flies. Then the golden period of fall, where you fatten up and the biting insects are gone until next season.
You are just a self-pitying urbanite who doesn't realize how great life is, because you were handed everything and can't fathom working hard, fighting for your place in life, and *gasp* having to compromise. You have the emotional intelligence of a two-year-old, with just enough critical thought to rationalize your juvenile outlook on life with an equally juvenile philosophy.
You are disconnected from nature to the point where you have no fight and no drive. It's pathetic; thank god you can live vicariously online and have others take care of you.
