>>1063557basically, what makes a good rod good, is relative light weight, good sensativity, and good strength. if your rod is undestructible but not sensative in the least, and weighs a ton (uglystik) it isnt good. if it weighs nothing but breaks the instant you use it, its not good (most shakespeare that isnt an uglystik)
if its sensative, and strong, but weighs a fuck ton, its not bad, but its not great. in order of priority, i'd say it goes strong, sensative, light. you'll catch more with an uglystik than a $12 shakespeare just because if you only feel 1/3 of the bites, but the rod survives any fish you throw at it, you will catch more fish than if you feel every bite but your rod breaks on the first fish. then if your rod is heavy, but you feel everything, and it doesnt break, its worth using. at least for a while.
