Glacier is amazing, I think it's a must-do trip in the next 10 years for any American or Canadian, before the glaciers all disappear. Backcountry permits are hard to get, you have to apply immediately when they open for application and hope that you picked a good date. I'm hoping to get in next year with my brother. As far as car camping goes, don't think that's anything to scoff at, either. The Mt. Brown Lookout picture I posted above gained 4300ft over only 5 miles, one of the toughest hikes in the park. Even if you don't make it into the backcountry, there's still plenty to do if you stick around the roads.
> Glacier National Park might be the most beautiful place in North America.I'm biased towards Denali deserving that label, just by a hair. But that's really saying something. Glacier is truly an incredible park, and both Denali and Glacier are in a league of their own in comparison to other national parks.
> I'm itching to go there, but I don't have enough endurance yet to properly enjoy the place, so it'd be a waste to goBe honest with yourself, do you really see it getting better as you get older? When will you have the endurance for it, a year from now? 5 years from now? Not trying to be a dick, but if you don't have a plan and execute on it to get to where you want to be physically, you're just lying to yourself. Don't miss out on a good /out/ trip because you were worried it wouldn't be the best possible /out/ trip.
