Im looking for a new baitcaster reel. Ive never had any others ones than the shitty Zebco ones you get at walmart. Can anyone reccomend some? Im looking for one that can have about 30 pound line on it. Looking for something like pic related. Much love. Thanks.

Can't go wrong with anything Shimano.

They code name all reels, spinning starts with S, casting with C.

A Calcutta would get you in the 30 lb range.

What are we fishing for?

My Daiwa line counter shit the bed pronto. Not impressed.

Bass Pro Johnny Morris or whatever is a decent less dollar option, but I think those would all be <15 lb weight.

I'm fishin mostly for Largemouth Bass, Northern fish such as pike, muskie, walleye. Mostly just a whole variation. I'm not really fishing for specifics

Is that the Black Max? That's not bad for the price. Are you thinking 30lb mono on there? Because that is heavy for bass. If you want to go muskie, you might want to think about something heavier for 30lb mono. You probably need (or want at least) two different rods for muskie and bass.

Get the braided line that equivalence to 30lb. Should be like 12lb I think. It casts fine. Don't even fuck with mono on those autism spinners.
