They are very patriotic/nationalistic and proud of their country even if every road is littered as hell with TP, cans and bottles. I've seen some veterans still wearing their war berets but didn't want to chitchat with them.
Nevertheless it's a country new to tourism as the western world knows it so they love to talk to strangers and share their ideas and memories if you can understand their language.
